Nikon D5 – First Specs?
We’re starting to see the first potential specs for the upcoming Nikon D5 which should see an announcement towards the end of 2015 or very first part of 2016. Canon is expected to announce the EOS 1D-X II as well, and we all know how these guys like to do battle with their pro bodies when it comes to Olympic years (Brazil 2016).
We’re hearing that the D5 will shoot 4k, which will put the pressure on Canon to deliver the same thing, even though I really suspect that they don’t want to since they are always trying to push people to their Cinema EOS line.
The Nikon D5 is also rumored to have a native high ISO setting of 102,400!
- New 20MP FX sensor
- 4k video
- 173 autofocus points (!)
- Native high ISO of 102,400 (expandable beyond that as well)
- 15 frames per second
- Visually similar to D4s
This seems like a very plausible feature list to me. Nothing on there is beyond the realms of realism, although the 173 AF points is pretty crazy!
