Tamron Patents 115mm f/1.4 Lens

Tamron Patents 115mm f/1.4 Lens

Nikons’s recently released 105mm f/1.4E ED lens had its first unboxing yesterday but that lens might not rule the bokeh roost too long if Tamron’s latest patent is anything to go by. They’s just filed the designs for a 115mm f/1.4 lens, and yes, it’s a full-frame design!

My bet? Tamron have seen the success that Sigma have had in the last few years by straying from the usual well-trodden paths and actually innovating. A 115mm f/1.4 lens would be a first, and would generate a hug buzz if it materialized.
