Leica Announce the TL Mirrorless System Camera
Leica have unveiled their new mirrorless T-system camera the Leica TL. More of a refresh than a complete overhaul, the TL is nearly identical to the outgoing T: We get the same 16.5MP sensor, 3.7″ LCD touchscreen and onboard Wi-Fi, there are however some some small tweaks to the specification:
- Internal storage increased from 16GB to 32GB.
- Improved autofocus, especially in AF-C mode.
- Compatible with OIS SL-Lenses.
- Compatible with R-System lenses with the R-Adapter L.
- New improved TL app for Android and IOS devices.
The Leica TL is available in three colours at launch; Silver, black, which are identical in design, and titanium which features a bevelled edge to the top and bottom plates.
So far we only have UK pricing for the TL, which will come in at £1,450 for the body only, I would expect the US Price therefore to be around $1,500. Is it a worthy upgrade? I’m not so sure, unless you really need to use your SL and R lenses then Leica are asking a lot, first time buyers however might find value in what seems to be a reasonable affordable Leica.
The TL will be available mid November, keep an eye on the following links for pre-order information:
