Olympus OM-D E-M10 III Coming This Summer?
The period of excitement following the release of the Olympus E-M1 Mark II is officially over, with Olympus’ flagship camera generating praise for it’s capabilities across the board, but what is next for Olympus?
The most exciting release that we are expecting this year must surely be the follow up to the immensely popular E-M10 Mark II. Not everyone want’s or can afford the asking price of $1,999 for the E-M1 and so a smaller camera with some trickle-down features is surely on the cards. We aren’t sure exactly what to expect yet but shooters will of course be hoping for improvements in speed and resolution and possibly the first outing of 4K video in the E-M10 series. Price will also be important with the midrange market being so competitive (the G85 is $897); We would like to see the new camera launch somewhere around $899 but given the rising price of imported cameras it sadly wouldn’t be surprising to see the new camera hit the $1000 mark.
We are expecting to start hearing solid news of the E-M10 III soon so stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
