The First Sigma FE Format Lens Could be a 35mm Prime!
A trusted source has reported today that the first of the highly anticipated FE format lenses from third party stalwart Sigma may well be a 35mm f/1.4 or maybe even an f/1.2!
It is extremely exciting to see Sigma developing lenses for Sony’s full frame mirrorless cameras and we can only hope that they step up and offer some quality long range glass in the very near future. 35mm is a safe bet for a first lens but it is fast long range lenses that the FE format cameras are missing out on right now. Here is what we know so far:
- Sigma is preparing the launch of two new lenses
- it will be presented faster than we thought!
- The first lens is rumored to be a 35mm f/1.4 (or f/1.2) FE autofocus lens. The size will be somewhere in between the current Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 and the Zeiss 35mm f/2.8
- The source has yet no info on the second Sigma FE lens but he says it may be a zoom lens
Having Sigma onboard is a huge tick in terms of Sony’s credibility moving forwards, the mirrorless movement is getting stronger and stronger by the day!
