Canon EF 135mm IS to be Announced in 2018?
The are whisperings from camp Canon doing the rounds at the moment that the manufacturer will be announcing an EF 135mm lens with Image Stabilization at some point in 2018. The obvious candidate for such a lens, and probably the one that most pro’s will be hoping for would be an update of the EF 135mm f/2L USM a lens that was announced way back in 1996. There would surely be a huge market for an EF 135mm f/2 IS and there is no doubt that the current lens is due an upgrade. We cant help but wonder if Canon is planning a refresh of it’s older L primes across the board, but as yet that is just wishful thinking.
This kind of rumor is hard to pin down, at the very least we probably wouldn’t hear anything concrete until the second half of next year, so lets keep those fingers crossed!
