Canon Working on New 50mm F/2.5 Macro Lens

We have heard news that Canon may be working on a replacement to their 50mm f/2.5 macro lens. Existing rumors seemed to suggest that it would be the 180mm f/3.5 that would be updated first but it seems that this may not be the case after all. The 50mm f/2.5 has been a popular lens in its own right, so an updated version should prove to be reasonably successful for Canon. No news yet on when we can expect the lens to land but we will keep you posted. Source: canonrumors. Image: Canon 50mm...

Fujifilm X-T2 Preview Unit Appears For Sale on Ebay.

We reported yesterday on a leak of new images of the yet to be announces successor to the Fuji X-T1, the Fujifilm X-T2, and in a strange turn of events the very unit featured in the leaked pictures has appeared for sale on Ebay. The suspicion seems to be that this is a stolen preview unit which makes sense as anyone who was intentionally given a unit would presumably have to sign a pretty comprehensive secrecy contract, which I am quite sure would not allow resale of the unit! So far we know that the X-T2 will feature increased...

New Fuji X-T2 Images Leak!

New images of the rumored replacement for the excellent Fuji X-T1 have hit the internet today via Fuji Rumors. The pictures show a top down and top 3/4 views of what is said to be the Fuji X-T2. The design language is of course familiar, with a plethora of chunky physical controls identifying the unit as a member of the X-T line, but there are a few changes of note from the X-T1. Firstly the ISO dial now goes as high as 12800, as opposed to the high of 6400 on the older camera. Secondly the exposure compensation dial gains...

The Sony lens is supposedly controlled by movement of the eyelid itself, in a blink to click fashion, with the onboard image stabilization designed...

Canon Q1 Profits Fall by 39%

Canon are reporting a first quarter fall in profits of a huge 39% in 2016. The manufacturer are siting a drop in compact camera and office equipment sales as the prime reason for the fall, which would perhaps explain why there are such fantastic deals on Canon DSLR and printer bundles at the moment. If a drop in compact camera sales is indeed part of the problem Canon is currently facing then unfortunately they only have themselves to blame. Competition in this sector of the market is extremely stiff with cameras like Sony’s RX100 IV and Fuji’s X100T providing...
