Nikon D3300 Discontinued, is a Replacement on The Way?

The Nikon D3300 has reportedly been discontinued. The camera is now listed as an ‘Old Product’ on Nikon’s Japanese website, and therefore we can’t help wondering what the manufacturer has planned to replace it? The D3300 was an important camera for Nikon, representing a capable and yet affordable DSLR for those beginning their photography journey, or upgrading from smaller format cameras. The supposed replacement has been rumored for a while now and will likely feature a 24MP sensor and SnapBridge compatibility....

Tony Northrup Predicts Camera Releases for 2016 and 2017

Tony Northrup has released an interesting video in which he predicts which cameras he believes will be announced and released during 2016 and 2017. Tony is very clear on the fact that these are his own ideas, and not based specifically on rumors or manufacturer provided information of any kind, and he comes up with some quite interesting predictions. I can’t see Canon releasing the 5D IV as a 75mp camera, or waiting until 2017 to do so, and I personally believe a Canon full frame mirrorless camera is more likely than a 6D Mark II. I also believe that if a Sony a9 is on the way, and targeting the pro segment, the base model will feature a higher resolution sensor than predicted 24 megapixels, the 42.4 megapixel sensor from the a7r II perhaps. Either way Tony is a widely followed and experienced photography expert so it will be interesting to see how closely his predictions match forthcoming manufacturer release...
