In a not particularly surprising development, Japanese camera manufacturer Nikon have confirmed that they are working on some new cameras. The new cameras will be of the mirrorless variety, and will hopefully for once live up to Nikons reputation for producing quality photographic products (i.e. better than the Nikon 1 series!) Canon have announced the C-LOG equipped version of their 5D Mark IV full frame pro DSLR: Appealing to filmmakers is Canon Log, which is offered pre-installed on this model. This gamma setting helps users capture images with an expanded dynamic range of 800%, or 12 stops. Also, it provides latitude for working with the footage in post-production during color grading. Only yesterday we covered news of what Nikon may have planned for their 100th anniversary celebrations this month, and rumors have now surfaced suggesting that the firm may announce the long awaited replacement for the D810!
