The information, which we received via Canonrumors suggests that Canon are planning on announcing the new cinema camera in the first week of September this year, in time for IBC in Amsterdam which runs from the 8th to the 13th September 2016. Nikon May be Working on a ‘Larger Sensor’ Mirrorless Camera

The latest news to surface from camp Nikon this week suggests that the company may be working on a mirrorless camera with a ‘larger sensor’. I’m sure you will agree that this is a rather vague description, so what could the news mean? Well Nikon already have CX sized mirrorless cameras on the market in the shape of the 1 series, the problem however is that the Nikon CX sensor is very small. The rumor could therefore be referring to a Micro 4/3 format, DX format APS-C sized, or FX format full frame mirrorless camera. The internet is busy crying...

We look forward to learning more about the forthcoming XT-2 as...

Fuji has patented a new 20mm f/1.8 lens. Although details aren’t specifically listed I assume, given its focal length and fast aperture that this is destined to be an X-mount lens for use on cameras like the X-Pro 2 of the X-T1. The timing of the publication of the patent would suggest that if an XF20mm f/1.8 is indeed on the way that it could be with us by Photokina in September this year. Check out the patent details below: Patent Publication No. 2016-95461 Published 2016.5.26 Filing date 2014.11.17 Example 1 Focal length 1mm Bf 2.08 – 2.05 –...

Sony RX100 V on the way With Hybrid AF Sensor?

A new rumor has arisen over the course of the weekend claiming that Sony is working on an RX100 V camera, and the unit will feature an Hybrid phase type AF sensor to facilitate super fast auto focusing. The rumor comes via thenewcamera, and claims the information was received in an anonymous e-mail, so reach for that pinch salt. My take on the rumor is that it is nothing but blind speculation, and the internet rumor-mill equivalent of betting on a sure thing. The RX 100 series has been a run away success for Sony, so of course they...
