Nikon To Announce Nikkor 70-300mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII Replacement

Nikon are rumored to be working on a replacement for their popular Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VRII lens. Two versions of the lens will be made available, one featuring onboard “Vibration Reduction” and one without.  This will presumably impact the cost to the end user, providing a more cost effective purchasing option. There is no word yet on when the new lens will be announced but we have been told to expect news within the next couple of months.
