Canon EOS 5D MK IV Undergoing Testing

Canon EOS 5D MK IV Undergoing Testing

Canonrumors are reporting that the forthcoming, much anticipated Canon Eos 5D Mk IV is currently undergoing testing by a number of Canon ‘preferred’ photographers. Usually when a camera enters the testing phase, post prototyping, it is an indicator that the hardware spec of the camera has been decided upon and the camera is undergoing final software troubleshooting and bug fixing.

There are no solid specification leaks as of yet, but 4k has supposedly been confirmed, as has 120fps HD video capture. There has been talk of 4k capture at 60fps, which is unconfirmed but would be a boon for fans of high quality frame capture photography.

The successor to the 5d Mk III is going to be an extremely important camera for Canon, in terms of potential unit sales, perhaps even more so than the 1D X MK II, so we are really hoping to see Canon pull out all the stops for this one. Canon cameras have of late tended to err on the side of caution when it comes to grabbing spec headlines in comparison to their competitors. Will the 5D MK IV be the camera that ends Canon’s conservative streak? We can’t wait to see.
