Sony RX100 V on the way With Hybrid AF Sensor?

A new rumor has arisen over the course of the weekend claiming that Sony is working on an RX100 V camera, and the unit will feature an Hybrid phase type AF sensor to facilitate super fast auto focusing. The rumor comes via thenewcamera, and claims the information was received in an anonymous e-mail, so reach for that pinch salt. My take on the rumor is that it is nothing but blind speculation, and the internet rumor-mill equivalent of betting on a sure thing. The RX 100 series has been a run away success for Sony, so of course they will be releasing an RX100 V, will it feature super fast auto-focus? Perhaps… it would certainly be one way they could improve on the RX100 mark IV. Traditionally RX100 cameras have been released in June, and this does collate nicely with a series of mysterious meetings Sony has arranged throughout the month. Are they camera releases though, or meetings linked to production delays caused by the Kumamoto earthquake? We will have to wait and see.
