Hasselblad and DJI Announce A5D equipped M600 Drone

Hasselblad and drone manufacturer DJI have announced their first collaborative release, following DJI’s acquisition of a minor stake in the camera manufacturer in November 2015.

The release, combining Hasselblad’s A5D medium format camera with DJI’s M600 Drone pairs, in the words of Hasselblad CEO Perry Oosting the “best-in-class aerial optics with the world’s most powerful aerial platform” and “is a natural development for DJI and Hasselblad.”

The package includes the 50 megapixel variant of Hasselblad’s A5D Aerial imaging system, mounted in a Ronin MX gimbal. The camera is fitted with a specially adapted HC 50mm f/3.5 lens, with focus set to infinity, and can attach infra-red filters for use in specialist applications such as aerial surveying.

Hasselblad “are delighted to provide this unique bundle to professional photographers, surveyors and mappers.”

The two companies also confirmed that they have further collaborative releases planned for the future.

The package is already available through DJI and Hasselblad, and costs $25,999.
