Hasselblad Announces the True Zoom Smartphone Camera

Hasselblad has announced the previously rumored MotoMod smartphone camera attachment, the Hasselblad True Zoom. The True Zoom is computable with the Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play Droid smartphones, attaching via magnet to the back of the phones. The camera unit packs a 1/2.3 inch 12MP BSI CMOS  sensor mated to a 4.5-45mm (10X optical zoom) f/3.5-6.5 lens offering a 35mm equivalent focal range of 25-250mm. The True Zoom features OIS for shooting stills and EIS for video, which is able to be captured at 1080p, 30fps.

The True Zoom measures 152.3 x 72.9 x 9.0 – 15.1 mm and weighs in at 145g.

No pre-order information is currently available, but the True Zoom will cost $250 upon release, making it the cheapest Hasselblad camera of all time.
