Panasonic G80 To feature 4:2:2 8Bit 4K

Video specifications are the flavour of the moment in the photography world right now, with the release of the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV sparking a flurry if supposed leaks giving us an idea of how other manufacturers upcoming releases will stack up against Canons new beast. We have already heard that the Panasonic Lumix GH5 will potentially feature 4:2:2 10-bit, with whisperings of 6k video, but the GH5 isn’t slated to arrive until 2017. Panasonic are however expected to announce a new consumer level ‘G’ camera on September 19th, and the latest rumor suggests that this camera will feature 4:2:2 8-bit 4K video recording capabilities, matching the 5D Mark IV, no word yet on crop factor, but we wouldn’t expect anything as drastic as the 1.7x factor employed on the new 5D.
