More EOS 6D Mark II Details Emerge

Further details of the next version of Canon’s entry level full frame camera, the EOS 6D have begun to appear on the web within the last 24 hours. The details are still rather vague at this point but of particular note is firstly the claim that the camera will not capture 4K, disappointing for some, but Canon has to maintain a performance chasm between the 5D and 6D models, and secondly the claim that the camera will feature a tilting touchscreen. If this is true then the 6D Mark II will be the first Canon full frame DSLR to include this functionality. Here is what we know so far:

  • 24MP or 25MP sensor
  • Dual Pixel AF
  • Dual SD card slots
  • NO 4K
  • Fully functional touch screen
  • Tilting LCD
  • New AF system
  • NFC
  • Wifi
  • GPS
  • Slightly smaller and lighter
  • Announcement expected Q2 2017

The 6D Mark II is becoming a hot topic so stay tuned for more info as it comes in.
