New Pentax KP DSLR may be Announced at CP+

Information has started to come in today giving us our first look at what Pentax may have planned for the CP+ show in Japan next month. A new rumor suggests that the company are poised to announce a new DSLR at the show, and indeed a new “Pentax KP” DSLR has been registered with the Indonesian telecommunication agency. The camera will have a combination of built-in Wi-Fi and/or a GPS and it will be manufactured in the Philippines.

No further details are available, and we are unsure what the ‘KP’ designation could mean, previously the designation ‘Kp’ has been reserved for the company’s medical Kp series video colonoscopes. Let’s hope the subtle difference in case doesn’t lead to any confusion!
