Sigma to Release 135mm F/1.8 ART and 14mm F/1.8 This Year?
There is a lot of buzz going on at the moment about what we can expect to see from Sigma this year. We have already covered the 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM ART which was rumored to be announced for CP+, although the lack of further information in the run up to the show suggests this may be delayed.
We are now hearing suggestions that Sigma will finally be releasing the 135mm f/1.8 ART, a lens which has been appearing in rumors for four years now! There can be no doubt, given how long whisperings of the lens’ existence have existed, that it is in development but whether rumors of an upcoming release are true or not remains to be confirmed.
Also mentioned is a 14mm f/1.8, which is expected to be an APS-C format lens and could also arrive later this year. There is no word on any new super wide angle full frame lenses, it looks like the recently released Sigma 12-24mm f/4 Art will filling that niche alone for now.
