When are Leica’s New SL Lenses Arriving?

Rewind to this time last year and you will remember that Leica announced the development of four new SL lenses to be released by the end of 2017. Well it is getting very close to being the end of 2017 now and there are no lenses in sight! It looks like things may have been held up slightly and the following are the revised availability dates for the new lenses:

  • Leica APO-Summicron-SL 75mm f/2 ASPH: coming in 2017
  • Leica APO-Summicron-SL 90mm f/2 ASPH: Spring 2018
  • Leica Super-Vario-Elmar-SL 16-35mm f/3.5-4.5 ASPH: Spring 2018
  • Leica Summicron-SL 35mm f/2 ASPH: Spring 2018

Great to see that one will be available this year at least, but as always with delays many Leica shooters are sure to be frustrated.
