Future TS-E Lenses May Get Image Stabilization

Future TS-E Lenses May Get Image Stabilization

A Canon patent has been published that shows that the manufacturer are actively working on implementing image stabilization in future tilt-shift lenses.

Hot on the heels of the recent feast of TS-E announcements, Canon clearly see a space in the market for high quality, feature rich tilt-shift lenses.

The patent details how the IS element of the lens and it’s related wiring will tilt and move with the barrel of the lens.

There is no indicator that this technology will be appearing in TS-E lenses any time soon, so perhaps what we are seeing is the first development of the second generation of the current 3 lenses.
