Optical Viewfinder for Mirrorless Camera

Japan Patent Application 2018-005126

This patent is particularly interesting as it seems to depict a device which is sits beteween the camera and the lens, which contains the mirror assembly traditionally associated with SLR type cameras. Essentially a device which takes your mirrorless camera, and turns it into a DSLR. The unit also appears to contain a dedicated phase detection autofocus sensor.

A device which robs a mirrorless camera of all it’s inherant advantages???? Yes please!
