Nikon Will Announce a Full Frame Mirrorless Camera Within 12 Months say SONY
Hot on the heels of Canon’s war like statment regarding their intention to hold a 50% share in the entire ILC market, we are hearing further news of other manufacturers getting involved in the race!
This time it is Nikon, who according to Kenji Tanaka (Sony Senior General Manager of the Digital Imaging Business Group) will release a full frame mirrorless camera within th next 12 months.
We won’t pretend we are to surprised, we had actually hoped to see such a camera already, and Nikon haven’t exactally been tigh lipped on the subject of development. It is however interesting to see the competition making predictions, the cat is officially out of the bag and mirrorless is no longer a taboo subject (they haven’t exactally been a paragon of quality products!) in the hallowed DSLR decorated walls of house Nikon!
We look forward to seeing how this fight developes. Will Canon and Nikon aim straight for the Pro-segment, or will the forst full frame mirrorless cameras from the big 2 be consumer level powerhouses?
